Here's What Others Had To Say

Hi, I’m Ethan!

I love animals & training dogs.

My passion for dogs and dog training started when my family adopted Buddy, a lovely rescue dog with fear and dog aggression issues. I began researching and learning how to manage these things with my own findings and working with a local dog trainer as a client. Buddy still has his issues, but he has come a long way.

I wanted to learn more about dog behavior and dog training, so I continued my learning at the Canine Academy Professional Dog Trainer Program. I learned from Sue McMullen, a graduate from the University of Toronto in animal behavior. I am always continuing to learn through books, videos, and looking at what other dog trainers are doing.

I have experience walking different types of dogs, including large reactive dogs. I have volunteered at the SPCA dog kennel. I am dog and cat first aid certified through the Canadian Red Cross.

Every trainer has a different approach to dog training; with their own philosophy and beliefs, on what is good and bad training. There are many ways to train a dog, and it is important that you choose a trainer with a philosophy that you agree with.

I am a balanced dog trainer.

This means I use reinforcement as well as aversives in training. I use positive reinforcement in the form of treats, praise, and play to teach and strengthen commands. I use aversives to help get rid of unwanted behavior.
